Star expiration works differently depending on your membership level. Understanding the rules helps you protect your Stars and plan redemptions strategically.
Stars may expire six months after the calendar month they were earned. However, you can extend expiring Stars by making a qualifying purchase, redeeming a reward, or completing a digital reload of $30 or more in the month before they expire.
Stars do not expire as long as you maintain Gold status. This allows you to save Stars over time without time pressure — a meaningful advantage for frequent customers planning larger redemptions.
Like Gold, Reserve members' Stars do not expire while status is maintained. This gives top-tier members complete freedom to accumulate Stars and redeem them for the highest-value rewards at their own pace.
